As a lighting technician, your job is to assemblr and rig all the lighting fixtures needed for the production. This includes testing the fixtures to ensure they are not damaged in any way and working to their full potential. If they are not you must label the fixture as damaged and report it to the lighting designer (or whoever is managing the fixtures) so that the fixture can be replaced. You will also need to rig any scaffolding and cranes needed to hold fixtures. Setting up fixtures and plotting them into a ion desk (Eos desk, etc) so that the operator can control said fixtures

Any fixtures that turn up to be damaged, should be packed away into a flight case and labeled clearly with red tape and writing stating the problem so that it can be returned to the manufacture and a replacement can be given. The fixtures that are good to go, need to have been re-packed into their flight cases and labeled with a sticker stating the contents within, the show they are for, what company they are being used by and where the cases are to be transported to. For example, with the Alice in Wonderland production, we designed this sticker base for our designated fixture cases
